Care Camps Foundation Announces 2026 Compete for Kids Campaign in Partnership with RVDA

(Fairfax, VA) — Care Camps Foundation is pleased to announce the 2026 Compete for Kids campaign taking place June 2026, in partnership with the National RV Dealers Association (RVDA). The month-long fundraising campaign will take place during National Camping Month and RV dealerships across the country are invited to join in a friendly competition to support pediatric oncology camps. 

Compete for Kids was initially launched in 2025 as a simple and engaging way for the RV industry to give back. Funds raised through the campaign support camps that serve children with cancer and their families, providing safe and meaningful outdoor experiences that promote healing, connection, and joy. 

In its first year, Compete for Kids helped support 125 camps across the United States and Canada, impacting more than 47,000 children with cancer and their families. Building on that momentum, the 2026 campaign continues to focus on ease of participation, flexibility, and industry-wide collaboration. There is no minimum fundraising requirement, and dealerships can participate in ways that best fit their teams and communities. 

“Care Camps Foundation is incredibly grateful for the remarkable support the RV industry has shown through Compete for Kids,” said Jenna Berneck, Development Director at Care Camps Foundation. “The willingness of RV dealerships to step forward, work together, and support camps that serve children with cancer and their families has been truly meaningful. This campaign continues to remind us how powerful generosity can be when an industry rallies around a shared purpose.” 

RVDA President Phil Ingrassia emphasized the pride the industry takes in supporting the campaign. “RV dealers are deeply connected to the outdoors and fostering family experiences,” Ingrassia said. “Compete for Kids is a natural fit for our industry, and we are proud to partner with Care Camps Foundation to help bring these camp experiences to children with cancer and their families.” 

Dealerships that participated in the 2025 campaign were recognized on stage at the RVDA Convention in Las Vegas, highlighting the impact and leadership shown across the industry. Long View RV was named the top fundraiser in the inaugural year. 

“Being part of Compete for Kids was incredibly rewarding for our team,” said Lexi Roberts of Long View RV, who accepted the top fundraiser recognition in 2025. “It brought our staff together around a cause that truly matters, and knowing our efforts helped support camps serving children with cancer made it even more meaningful.” 

Registration for the 2026 Compete for Kids campaign is now open. RV dealerships are encouraged to learn more and sign up to participate through the campaign website and registration page.

RVDA to Host March Webinar to Help Dealers Navigate Tax Season and Plan Ahead

FAIRFAX, Va. — The National RV Dealers Association (RVDA) will co-host a 30-minute webinar on Thursday, March 12, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern designed to provide RV dealers with practical guidance on key tax developments from 2025 and explore what’s on the horizon for 2026. Interested dealers can register here.  

The webinar will feature Jane Saxon, managing director of CBIZ, a leading professional services advisor with specialized expertise in RV dealership. Saxon will outline critical steps to reduce tax exposure, maximize available deductions and credits, and avoid common filing pitfalls. She will also address proactive planning strategies dealers can implement now to position their businesses for financial strength in 2026.

“Tax planning is not just about filing an accurate return — it’s about making informed business decisions throughout the year,” said Saxon. “RV dealers who take a proactive approach can uncover meaningful opportunities to reduce liability, strengthen cash flow and position themselves strategically for 2026 and beyond.”

RV Fixed Operations Certification Week

RV Fixed Operations Certification Week is March 8-14, 2026

Recognizes Certified Employees and Promotes Continuing Education

(Fairfax, VA) — The Society of Certified RV Professionals, the RV Technical Institute (RVTI), and the Mike Molino RV Learning Center have designated March 8–14 as RV Fixed Operations Certification Week. Fixed operations professionals include employees working in RV service, parts, and warranty administration.

Fixed‐operations professionals can earn certifications as parts managers, parts specialists, service writers/advisors, service managers, and warranty administrators through the RV Learning Center’s parts and service management certification programs. 

RVTI offers Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 training and certification programs for RV technicians online and through live classes at its Elkhart, IN, training center. Training and certification are also available through RVTI’s national network of Authorized Learning Partners.

Individuals who earn a new certification during RV Fixed Operations Certification Week receive a free one-year subscription to RV Fixed Operations Today website (a $49.95 value).

Travel Trailer and Camper Tax Parity Provisions

Special Tax Update:  Tax Legislation Includes Travel Trailer Floor Plan Tax Fix

Thanks to the efforts of RVDA, RVIA, dealers, and other industry stakeholders, the Reconciliation Bill included an amendment to Internal Revenue Code §163(j). This amendment offers meaningful relief to RV dealerships engaged in the sale of certain trailers and campers. Specifically, the bill expands the definition of floor plan financing indebtedness to include debt used to finance trailers or campers that:

  • Are designed to provide temporary living quarters for recreational, camping, or seasonal use, and

  • Are designed to be towed by or affixed to a motor vehicle.

This change is significant for dealerships that sell towable RVs, such as fifth-wheel trailers and travel campers, which were previously excluded from the floor plan financing exception unless arguably part of a motor vehicle package. The update ensures that interest on qualifying inventory financing will be fully deductible and not subject to the business interest limitation rules under §163(j).

The amendment applies to tax years beginning after December 31, 2024, with the Treasury granted authority to issue rules for short tax years that span the enactment date

Tax legislation: The provision was championed by Rep. Rudy Yakym (IN), a member of the Ways & Means Committee. In the Senate, Senators Joni Ernst (IA), Todd Young (IN), and Jim Banks (IN) supported companion legislation to ensure RV dealers receive fair and consistent tax treatment.  This issue was one of the top legislative priorities for RVDA and RVIA.
